Advisory

Advisory sessions are held each Wednesday throughout the school year. These sessions provide students with a consistent staff advisor during their time at the DCE Junior High and offers students:

  • Support and guidance concerning their academic, career and life goals
  • Academic and career planning lessons, including time to update their Portrait of a Graduate dashboard, check their email, use Xello to identify career interests, etc.
  • Social and emotional lessons
  • Individual check-in sessions with the advisor to monitor grades and progress toward goals/graduation

The DCE Junior High also provides students the opportunity to explore various career fields through a variety of programs and activities including:

  • Career interest surveys and research
  • Field trips 
  • Guest speakers
  • Heavy Metal tour
  • Adventure Day
